On the 28th of April 2010 the first cluster meeting of three FP7 projects Climate for Culture, SMooHS and EU-CHIC was carried out in Vienna, Austria.

The idea of clustering has been raised on the EU-CHIC Kick-off meeting in Ljubljana on the 23rd and 24th September 2009 by Mr. Roko Žarnić in order to link together related FP7 projects from the field of cultural heritage research and thus strengthens their results, outcomes, benefits from joint actions, from the common share of experience and nevertheless spend some funds through joint events.

On the Vienna cluster meeting presentations were given by Mr. Michel Chapuis, representative of the European Commission, who gave a support to the clustering, by Mr. Marcus Krueger (SMooHS), by Ms. Johanna Leissner and Mr. Ralf Kilian (Climate for Culture) and by Mr. Roko Žarnić (EU-CHIC) as well some other EU projects, which are invited to join the cluster, were identified: Perpetuate and Niker (earthquake), Firesense (protection of fires) and Teach (impact of pollution). Perpetuate and 3ENCULT projects joined the cluster in 2011.

Coordinators and participants elaborated cooperation among cluster projects, which could be reached through common events, workshops, publications, with an exchange of relevant data, with concrete actions during the course of the projects and with linking PhD topics from all three projects with Marie Curie Actions, for example. Coordinators and participants agreed that a certain memorandum of understanding among cluster projects should be developed and that a big cluster event will take place in autumn 2011, preferably in connection with some other already planned event. It has been concluded as well, that the University of Ljubljana will take coordination support to the clustering and will gather elements for the memorandum of understanding from all coordinators.

Above listed projects, as well as other FP7 projects from the field of cultural heritage, are most welcome to join the cluster by sending coordinator a "Letter of Intent" of your interest in becoming a member of the cluster. Such a letter should contain your expected benefits from the clustering and some proposals for further clustering steps and actions.
